Boring Messages & Boring Small Groups
This generation of Asian Americans are not impressed by what you know.
(Many of them are at the top of their class and a large number of them
have or will receive professional or advanced degrees.) They live in
an age where rapid internet growth makes information very accessible
and inexpensive. It's not that leaders say the wrong things, but it's
a matter of how much they say and how they say it to show relevancy.
To capture the attention and minds of Asian Americans today, messages
& studies need to show how Biblical truths apply to their daily
lives. Here's a suggestion to the speakers and small group leaders.
Reduce the quantity of information presented by half and spend the
time saved by reinforcing the truths taught by emphasizing how it correlates
to their everyday life.
*An unseen benefit of this teaching model is that it makes it simplier,
faster, and easier for new believers to create reproducing disciples.
